Global Disc Golf - S1 Rules

Survivor Series One (S1) will span 10 weeks starting on Friday, October 25th.

The events will unlock every Friday morning and stay open for 65 hours until Sunday night (CST). This time window will allow players from all across the Globe to compete.

The main things to know about S1:
1. FREE TO PLAY - S1 events are free to play and receive prizes.
2. NO NEED TO ENTER AN EVENT CODE - The first S1 event will appear in the Events section without the need to enter an event code. This will help facilitate broader participation across all Disc Golf Valley players. Subsequent S1 events will only appear to players who qualified for the next round.
3. DEFAULT BAGS - S1 events will only utilize players' bags, so there will be no Putters, Big Skip, Balanced, etc rounds.

Format

Each week players will attempt to Survive which means: remain above the cut line for that given week.

Ties will advance to the next round (except for Weeks 9 and 10. See below for tiebreakers).

After Week 1, Global Disc Golf will be using a tool to "push" the next week's event to the top X number of players from the previous week. This is the first time this tool will be used on this scale, so please be patient if the event doesn't appear immediately as expected. Global Disc Golf will do everything possible to make sure all eligible players have the chance to advance when earned. Players will not be able to join an event by entering an event code to avoid someone sneaking into an event they didn't qualify for.

Week 1
- S1 will begin with the Survivor Series Open. All DGV players will see the event appear in the Event Section of the app (no code required)
- Players must finish tied for 1000th or better to qualify for Week 2.
- Week 1 will count as a Global Rankings "Open" event
Week 2 - Top 1000
- Players must finish tied for 500th or better to qualify for Week 3.
Week 3 - Top 500
- Players must finish tied for 250th or better to qualify for Week 4.
Week 4 - Top 250
- Players must finish tied for 100th or better to qualify for Week 5.
Week 5 - Top 100
- Players must finish tied for 50th or better to qualify for Week 6.
Week 6 - Top 50
- Players must finish tied for 25th or better to qualify for Week 7.
Week 7 - Top 25
- Players must finish tied for 10th or better to qualify for Week 8.
Week 8 - Top 10
- Players must finish tied for 5th or better to qualify for Week 9.
Week 9 - Top 5
- Players must finish tied for 2nd or better to qualify for Week 10
- If more than 2 players finish in the Top 2, then a tiebreaker will determine which 2 players advance to the Finale.
- 1st Tiebreaker: number of holes finishing better than "Elite Par" (bonus strokes) in Week 9
- 2nd Tiebreaker: Week 8 finishing place. If still tied, Week 7 finishing place, etc.
Week 10: Survivor Series Finale - 1 v 1
- Player with the best finishing score will be the Sole Survivor

Rules

Players are only allowed to play an Event one (1) time using one (1) DGV account. Any identified instance of a player using multiple accounts in an event may result in disqualification from this season AND from any future GDG events or leagues.
Players may play all Event rounds at their own pace, but they must complete the rounds during the announced time window. If a player's rounds are not completed when the Event window locks, their score will be frozen wherever they stopped playing.
Players must refrain from sharing or posting any layout specifics (holes, order, wind conditions, etc.) that don't appear on GlobalDiscGolf.club before an event begins. The intent is for all players to encounter unknown layouts equally unaware.
Players are not required to finish all 36 holes of the event to qualify for the next round. A player's place in the standings is the only thing that will determine whether or not they advance.
Players must be on the most recent release version of Disc Golf Valley to participate in the GDG events.
In the case that an Event includes unexpected and/or misconfigured layouts or bag settings, all players must continue with the round. Scores for affected rounds will count towards the week's results as if they were the intended settings.
Global Disc Golf is not owned or operated by Disc Golf Valley, Spinoff Games, or House of Discs and reserves the right to independently manage the rules, participation, and prize winners related to any Global Disc Golf branded event or league.
Technical glitches or issues with the Disc Golf Valley app and/or the UDisc integration will be handled if possible, but Global Disc Golf makes no guarantees that anything can be done if you experience a glitch. Please do your best to ensure you have a secure, up-to-date version of DGV and are on a solid connection when playing GDG League events.
Any disputes or unforeseen circumstances will be resolved by the Global Disc Golf Club commissioner. Commissioner decisions are final. Send any questions or concerns to League@GlobalDiscGolf.club.

Layout Notes:
- Survivor Series layouts consist of holes from 9 different courses.
- Layouts were generated randomly but only Elite Par ratings of 1100+ were selected.

Global Rankings Notes:
- The Survivor Series Open (Week 1) will count towards Global Rankings as an "Open" event
- The overall Survivor Series will count towards Global Rankings as a "Major" event
- Players' placement in Week 1 will determine their "Open" points
- Players' placement in the last week they survive to will determine their "Major" points

Major Placement Example:
DiscMan finishes the first 4 events in the following places:
Week 1: 623
Week 2: 83
Week 3: 199
Week 4: 283
Because DiscMan didn't finish in the Top 250 in Week 4, he missed the cut and was eliminated. His final position in the Survivor Series will be 283rd despite finishing better than that in both Week 2 and Week 3.
